INDIVIDUALS

INDIVIDUAL
COUNSELLING

Most people want to talk with a therapist one to one.  I have training in several different therapy models and together we will find an approach that can work for you.  Your first session begins with an assessment, meaning we would talk about you, your family and how you want to approach your issue.  We would then move to planning your therapy goals and a treatment plan.

I have experience working in many areas including with children, adolescents and adults, individuals and couples, who have experiences living with stress, depression, anxiety, addictions, grief and trauma as well as other mental health concerns. I have experience working with active military, veterans, first responders and their families.

In some cases, people prefer to engage in therapy over the course of a few hours rather than once a week.  This can be useful for individuals that live out of town.  It is also helpful when an individual has an issue or trauma that they would like to deal with quickly for intense symptom relief.

COUPLES & FAMILIES

COUPLES & FAMILY
COUNSELLING

No one and no issue can happen in isolation.  As a Social Worker, I like to see things within a broader context.  Some issues need to be dealt with in the context of the family, or the couple.  An initial session is similar to an individual session in that the first step is to get to know you and your family.  This can be complicated and so in some cases we may need more than 50 minutes for the first session.  Together, we will develop a plan that everyone can agree upon and a goal that will help you move forward.

In some cases, couples prefer to do therapy over the course of a few hours rather than once a week.  This can be useful for couples that live out of town.  It is also helpful when an couple has an issue or trauma that they would like to deal with quickly for intense symptom relief.
